The Investment Analyst (IA) works with the Investment Strategists and the IAG Investment Group in the delivery of SunTrust’s investment services. The IA has responsibility for assisting the Investment Strategists in delivering SunTrust’s investment experience to their clients. The Investment Analyst will be required to assist the Investment Strategists with trading,  modeling/re-balancing or restructuring client portfolios to ensure appropriate client asset allocation strategy.

The IA will work with the Investment Strategist, Investment Portfolio Manager and Reg 9 Coordinator to monitor client portfolios relative to their investment policy statement and work with the team to identify and address variances.

The IA will assist in the development of client investment reviews and new business presentations.

The Investment Analyst must have an appreciation for the importance of investment planning and the need for continually reviewing client portfolios. The IA will also participate in the new business development process and existing client meetings.

Maintains proper Series 65 licenses. Candidates will have 60 days from their Start Date to transfer, or 100 days from their Start Date to acquire all of the registrations and licenses required for this position. Ensures that appropriate continuing education requirements are met where needed.  

Conducts complex analysis for assigned investment unit. Provides analysis and makes recommendations to management. Develops portfolio strategies for assigned investment product. Interacts with clients or internal investment professionals or relationship managers.


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements: 5 years investment related experience. Proficient at utilizing complex models, databases, and statistical tools. Performance assessment experience. Demonstrated understanding of the fundamentals of finance and investment theory including credit evaluation.

Preferred Requirements: 2-3 years of wealth management experience in a client-facing role; MBA, CFA, CFP, CIMA, CAIA
