BlackRock Solutions® ("BRS") provides comprehensive investment accounting services including financial and regulatory reporting for financial institutions such as insurance companies. By deploying Aladdin®, accounting services are offered as a coordinated solution alongside Aladdin's powerful capabilities. BlackRock Solutions delivers accounting as a service offering to insurance companies globally. The group is responsible for new client implementation, relationship management, product management and deployments of new accounting capabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Aladdin product managers and engineers to foster the value proposition of the Aladdin Insurance Accounting platform and successfully implement technology solutions.
  • Coordinate with clients and production teams to optimize processes and system usage.
  • Provide accounting expertise on various investment types (Fixed Income, Equity, Loans, Mortgages, Derivatives, Alternatives) continuing to build skills in emerging instruments.
  • Analyze business processes/needs to help develop specifications and implement new functionality
  • Participate in Aladdin business development activities, assisting in system validations and due diligence meetings with prospective clients
  • Track Regulatory changes for US GAAP, US Statutory, US Tax, IFRS, etc. related to investments and disseminate information to internal and external clients


There will be frequent travel necessary for this role.

Qualifications:

  • 4-6 years' of work experience in the financial services industry
  • Knowledge/experience in US GAAP and/or Statutory accounting for investments
  • Previous experience in support and/or implementation of Back Office technology / Accounting System a plus
  • Knowledge of one or more of the following asset classes: Securities, Alternatives, Mortgage Loans, or Derivatives
  • A working understanding of SQL, UNIX shell, or a modern programming language
  • Must be client driven, proficiency working within a team environment, and be focused on providing a high quality of service to the client
  • Post Graduate Experience, CFA, or CPA, a plus
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with aptitude to convey complex concepts simply and clearly to clients
  • Well organized with the ability to prioritize with a hands-on approach
