Financial strategy
- Support the formulation of the financial strategy for the Bank whilst maintaining sustainable growth rate in operations consistent with the Bank's established prudential risk parameters in line with the preservation of the bank's AAA rating.
- Assist strategic financial balance-sheet planning for the Bank and the development of financial strategies and projections, in close collaboration with the relevant units, to ensure the financial sustainability of the Bank as well as adequate financial resilience to absorb external shocks.
- Develop the model and propose the Strategic Asset Allocation (SAA) and risk/return objectives for Investment funds and supports the Investment unit in the development of the Investment Policy statements for each of the funds.
Financial Planning
- Assist in the preparation of all medium and long term financial projections and scenario modelling for supporting the Bank's financial budgeting considerations and the determination of financial sustainability of the Bank by comparing key ratios against approved prudential limits established in approved risk frameworks and financial policies.
- Propose the required share capital requirements and growth strategy and control of income allocations to ensure sufficient and sustainable risk capital growth in line with the bank's targeted capital adequacy ratio
- Conduct the core qualitative and quantitative analyses stipulated in the methodologies of the rating agencies relating to market, ALM and liquidity exposures to support the rating exercise to ensure the maintenance of AAA rating.
- Prepare the Financial Sustainability report on a periodic basis highlighting matters of strategic significance to the bank for the consideration of management.
- Support the implementation of an enterprise risk management solution in the Bank that provides FPPA and Finance Complex the tools to undertake their first layer of defense responsibilities for managing the financial risks of the Bank.
- Define and develop methodologies, models and systems to optimize 'risk-return' within approved tolerance levels for financing and investment operations. Develop the methodologies and models for the management of liquidity and market risk in the Finance Complex and allow the Compliance and Monitoring unit to periodically monitor.
- Perform financial analytical research to identify the key income drivers, cost allocations to formulate optimal business model of the Bank.
- Prepare analytic reports on liquidity management and performance assessment for in-house managed investment portfolios.
Operational excellence
- Provide technical guidance and review the work delivered by less experienced team members.
- Monitor the effective implementation and adherence to respective financial management policies, procedures and controls so that all relevant procedural / legislative requirements are fulfilled.
- Keep abreast of the latest developments, regulations and leading practices in the field and propose any necessary actions.
- Propose and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, effectiveness and compliance of the related operations.
Job Requirements
Academic qualifications
- Master's degree in Mathematics, Econometrics, Financial Management or related field.
- Certification in FRM, PRM or CFA is preferred
Languages
- English (mandatory)
- Arabic and French (preferred)
Minimum number of years and nature of experience
- 5-8 years' experience in financial management, financial modelling, risk management. Investment banking and pricing policies experience are preferred.
