Investment Manager

EBI Portfolios is a leading provider of discretionary managed model portfolios to UK and European Financial Advisers. We require an established Investment Manager or Senior fund analyst to join our growing team.

EBI is unique amongst discretionary fund managers as we don’t engage in active fund management. EBI builds portfolios based on academic evidence using predominantly index funds designed to provide broad market exposure with tilts to a selection of ‘factors’ identified by academia as having higher expected returns. The successful candidate should have a detailed understanding of the concept of factor based investing.

Role responsibilities:

  • Carry out regular comprehensive fund research and manage selection and the ongoing monitoring of existing Buy List selections.
  • Ensure portfolios are managed in accordance with the risk mandate, objectives and the firm’s investment proposition.
  • Be an active member of the firm’s Investment Committee and act in accordance with its terms of reference.
  • Perform comprehensive due diligence on new investment products and providers.
  • Contribute oversight to the effective management of trading
  • Develop a portfolio analysis process for EBI clients looking to use EBI portfolios
  • Draft portfolio commentaries
  • Support client services staff with investment related queries
  • Present EBI’s Investment proposition at seminars and train EBI clients on evidence based investing
  • Assist the development of a portfolio analysis service to our clients

Skills and experience required:

  • 5 years of Investment Management experience
  • Good quantitative analytical skills with full understanding of statistics and numerical analysis
  • Industry-relevant degree
  • Extensive industry qualifications (CISI or CFA)
  • In-depth knowledge across a broad range of asset classes
  • Good command of the English language speaks well and be comfortable presenting.

You will be required to work from the EBI offices in Aldridge, West Midlands. We are not looking for a remote worker.
