EY's Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) division offers strategic corporate clients and private equity clients professional transaction advice and services, from the strategic analysis phase of the transaction lifecycle, through execution, to transaction integration.

Within TAS, Valuation, Modeling & Economics (VME) advises our clients on a variety of issues concerning their investment, finance and strategic options. VME teams extensively with other competencies within EY working on a diverse range of issues including but not limited to transactions, investments, strategic issues. With over 1,600 valuation professionals worldwide, no similarly positioned global professional organisation can match our breadth of capabilities or our depth of resources.

The opportunity
As a transaction professional, you will work with the world's largest organizations, fastest-growing companies, funds and private equity firms on some of the biggest and most complex cross-border deals and engagements in the global market.

You will help those clients make better and more informed decisions about how they strategically manage capital and transactions in a changing world. That means advising businesses on how they preserve, optimize, raise and invest their capital to help them achieve their strategic objectives.

Your key responsibilities
  • Lead and be a part of project teams to a dvise on business plans, transactions, decision support, optimization and review of all types of business for a diverse range of clients
  • Advise on the evaluation of all types of businesses, projects and securities, intangible assets and financial instruments
  • Provide clients with modelling solutions, data analytics and analysis to address complex business problems
  • Prepare analyses of historical and pro forma financial information to assess trends and fluctuations that may impact cash flow requirements and deal valuation
  • Assist in researching technical accounting issues to evaluate implications on transaction valuation and structuring
  • Lead and be a part of project teams comprising colleagues from across the TAS sub service lines and firm competencies
  • Build strong working relationships with senior clients, including influence, advice and support to key decision makers
  • As part of your career development, you will: participate in / lead sales opportunities with senior team members and clients; assist in / lead preparing proposal documents; be supported in building client relationships at all levels. You will be expected to be innovative and insightful in considering industry trends and potential disruptions
Skills and attributes for success
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, with a demonstrated aptitude in quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Strong financial modelling skills with a proven ability to create robust and flexible financial models based on the client's financial and operational information
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills, with a focus on building internal and external networks
  • Strong drive to excel professionally, and to guide and motivate others
  • Dedicated, innovative, resourceful and able to work under pressure
  • Foster an efficient, innovative and team-oriented work environment
To qualify for the role you must have
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Analytics, Econometrics, Mathematics or Operational Studies & Research
  • At least 4-5 years of relevant work experience in the fields of: valuation, financial modelling, FP&A
  • Proven track record excelling in financial / business modelling as a core strength
  • Strong understanding of concepts of accounting, finance theory and analysis, risk and return, capital budgeting and financial strategies
  • Strong analytical, presentation and report writing skills
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English
Ideally, you'll also have
  • CPA or CFA
  • Transactions/auditing experience
  • Client facing experience gained within another large professional services organization
  • Established networking skills in a relevant industry
