The role

The Investment Relationship Manager (IRM) is a member of the AEF Investment Team.  Under guidance from the VP of Investments, the IRM will be responsible for specific responsibilities to execute AEF’s Investment Policy Statement (IPS) for an assigned portion of AEF’s financial advisor and custodial relationships.  In this capacity, the IRM will be designated as authorized signer, and function as client, for the investment accounts associated with the assigned firms and custodians.

You will

  • Interact initially and regularly with our financial advisors to conduct the annual investment account review process
  • Review and approve investment allocations and trade recommendations and respond to other investment account related questions
  • Perform activities related to the investment account opening process, both new and existing funds, as well as ongoing maintenance of investment accounts
  • Consider tax consequences of investment recommendations provided by financial advisors to assess appropriateness of investments
  • Partner with the Investment Account Analyst to document and report on investment allocation and performance to identify and help resolve account oversight and maintenance related issues
  • Assist the VP of Investments in various organizational projects to meet the objectives of AEF’s investment strategy
  • Recommend processes and documentation improvements to continually improve efficiencies and accuracy of AEF’s Investment Policy Statement

We are seeking candidates with

  • 3 to 7 years of experience in financial services or the investment management industry
  • An understanding of portfolio allocation strategies and theories
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize and work independently while being self-motivated and goal-oriented
