Acts as a "player/coach" who leads a virtual sales and relationship management team for Asia Pacific ex Japan and Australia and actively participates in the sales effort.  This role is primarily focused on developing new business within their area of responsibility (i.e. region, segment, etc.) by developing and winning new business.  Responsible for the overall results within their area, as well as, the strategic planning for the region/channel.  Key responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to developing and executing the strategy to drive positive net revenue within their area; engaging in the most complex, critical, and strategic relationships within their area to develop, grow, and retain those relationships; maintaining thorough, direct dialogue with clients, understanding their needs, and delivering solutions; understanding and staying current on Wells Fargo's business strategy in order to drive firm-wide initiatives; developing the area's presence by developing client-focused events (i.e. a symposium, seminar, etc.) that can develop and reinforce our brand of being a holistic solutions provider; develop a sustainable and diversified business.  As a leader, the position will partner with line managers to ensure talent is aligned to the best opportunities, activities of each team member are aligned to maximizing net new revenue within their area; coaching and developing new team members to grow and advance in their roles; and partnering with the International Leadership team to hire as needed to strengthen the team.
 
In addition to being a virtual team leader as described above, the role will have a reporting line into the local HK president of APAC, representing the entire APAC region, which includes Japan and Australia/New Zealand in all relevant leadership meetings and towards senior management. The individual will represent the WFAM APAC business to the regional president including across cross-functional initiatives; strategic planning; operational risk and compliance forum.  The individual will assist International Distribution Leadership to disseminate relevant information on the WFAM business, and ensure that regional information is cascaded down to the team members covering the APAC region, as well as leadership and support functions across WFAM.
 
 
As a third element to this role  the individual will also function as Responsible Office for  Wells Fargo Securities Asia Limited's asset management line of business with a direct reporting line into the regional president of APAC.  The role of the RO is a regulatory refined role that involves regulatory oversight over the business and extends to the HK based activities. The individual should have sufficient seniority and authority within the organization and have accountability for the applicable function.  The role requires periodic qualifications about the business being in compliance with these requirements and may involve some liability towards the regulator for failure to do so properly   This also includes periodic updates on  resource requirement and other business needs specific to the asset management business.

 

Required Job Qualifications:
 

  • 10+ years of investment sales experience; including 5+ years of with large market accounts
  • Extensive knowledge of the asset management industry, trends, as well as products and solutions.
  • Strong sales skills
  • Experience in managing and leading a team
  • Track record of intellectual curiosity
  • CFA
