As an Associate Director, Investments, you will be responsible for leading client relationships and consulting efforts, while providing first class advice and solutions on a range of investment services to institutional investors. These services include: delegated investment solutions, strategic setting of investment objectives, strategic asset allocation, investment management structures, manager selection, performance measurement and evaluation, investment manager monitoring, custodian selection, investment governance, and statements of investment policies & procedures.

In addition, a portion of your time will be dedicated to business development and intellectual capital development. This will be achieved by meaningfully expanding areas of expertise and market relationships. You will also be responsible for leveraging our intellectual capital in public presentations, articles and other marketing efforts to drive the Willis Towers Watson investment offering and brand.

Performance Objectives:
Financial

• Increase the practice’s penetration in the Canadian institutional investment market
• Identify and deliver on appropriate cross-selling opportunities where clients can benefit from a variety of products and services that we have to offer
• Coordinate with existing sales and Client Relationship Management teams to identify, develop and win strategic sales opportunities

Clients
• Lead and expand client engagements, including delegated relationships, scope projects and ensure proper resourcing and delivery 
• Develop leveraged teams that work together effectively and provide a large range of solutions
• Develop cooperative relationships with senior client contacts, colleagues and providers
• Identify and engage specialist advice within the firm, as appropriate
• Operational Excellence & Innovation
• Provide advice on the design, implementation and monitoring of investment strategies 
• Perform final high level review of work prior to delivery
• Identify opportunities in the market to develop new tools and solutions  

The Requirements

  • Client focus and proven track record of building trust in an investment context
  • Demonstrated capability to bring solutions and ability to understand the needs of a client and translating that into action • Team player comfortable in a professional services environment 
  • Proven experience successfully managing multiple projects and teams
  • Undergraduate degree required; relevant professional qualifications such as FSA, CFA, MSc and MBA are preferred
  • At least 8+ years of experience in the investment industry
  • Fluency in English
