Business Unit description
The Treasury/Chief Investment Office (TCIO)'s core mandate is to manage JPMorgan's liquidity, funding, structural interest rate and FX risks and executing JPMorgan's capital action plan.

Details of the role
The hedge accounting team is responsible for all finance and accounting aspects of the CIO's hedge accounting strategies in Asia - part of the Asia Finance team for TCIO, based in Hong Kong.

Key areas of coverage for the Hedge Accounting Team including:
  • Managing the hedge roll process for cash flow and net investment hedge programmes, including communication and co-ordination with Front Office, Middle Office and Operations.
  • Preparation of inception hedge documentation for all hedge programmes.
  • Hedge accounting postings to the Bank's books & records including communication and co-ordination with the Financial Control and Middle Office teams.
  • Developing and maintaining control procedures for each hedge strategy including, but not limited to: inception of new hedges, documentation and linkage record keeping, prospective and retrospective hedge effectiveness and accounting/posting to the General Ledger
  • Assist with all operational and finance aspects of the Firm's hedge accounting programmes in Asia including the controls around those programmes
  • Effectively liaise and co-ordinate with other parts of TCIO within Asia and other regions on hedge programme related matters
  • Drive continuous automation and improvement of the controls around the implementation and operation of hedge accounting in Asia.
Qualifications
  • University graduate with relevant discipline (e.g. Accounting or Finance)
  • Minimum 2 years experience with top tier banks in product control or financial control functions and/or in Accounting firm
  • Member/ student member of professional bodies is a plus (e.g. CPA or CFA)
  • Knowledge of hedge accounting incl IFRS 9, SFAS 133 and ASU 2017-12 as well as related concepts such as swap and bond curves would be an advantage
