Role Value Proposition:
The Asset Management unit is seeing an Associate who will work actively with various members of Brighthouse's Investments team and provide analytical support across various asset sectors and portfolios. The individual will perform investment analysis and assist Brighthouse's sector portfolio managers in managing our $80+ billion general account portfolio on a multi-manager platform. The Associate will analyze performance reports and participate in research and ad-hoc projects across Investments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize and maintain analytical models for various sectors, particularly structured finance and real estate, as well as credit and alternative investments
  • Provide analytical support to asset sector heads and other senior members of Investments Department
  • Responsible for data gathering and for preparing reporting packages for senior management
  • Participate in research projects on asset sectors, portfolio management and risk management
  • Participate in the assessment of new investment proposals/strategies

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
  • Strong background in financial or quantitative analysis
  • Substantial experience with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience with BlackRock Aladdin preferred
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to work well with people at all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated team player
  • Strong self-motivation and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and proven ability to meet stringent time constraints
  • Knowledge and interest in current events/trends impacting industry and markets
  • Structured products and/or real estate experience preferred
  • BS/BA required; MBA and/or CFA preferred
